Dump Truck and Audi Accident Snarl Traffic
August 29, 2017
Lunchtime traffic often results in people in a hurry to get where they are going for their lunch plans or to finish up work. The roads can often be more congested at this time because of this fact and may result in an accident or two.
This was the case recently as an accident occurred in Wharton during the afternoon as a dump truck and an Audi had a collision. This accident resulted in the gravel that was being carried by the dump truck to spill upon the roadways, and ended up closing traffic for all of the westbound lanes. For those on the roadway already, there were major delays in getting off of the highway. Traffic had to be diverted, and the motorists were told to use an alternative route until the cleanup could be completed.
Thankfully, the driver of the dump truck was the only individual involved in this particular crash to require any treatment for injuries and they were only minor. The two occupants of the Audi were not harmed in the crash. The fault has yetto be determined for this accident as of yet, as it’s still being investigated.
Things may not have turned out so well for the driver and their passenger in the Audi. All too often, when a larger vehicle and a smaller vehicle collide, the occupants of the smaller vehicle come out worse for wear. This could have led to a much bigger accident involving more vehicles with the collision and resulting gravel spill.
