Unconscious Man Pulled From Burning Car After Crash

A 61-year-old driver had his life saved after police officers pulled him from the driver’s seat of his burning SUV. The man, who was unconscious when pulled from his vehicle, had crashed his SUV into 12 parked cars on a city street over a three-block stretch.
Police received at least two calls in regard to the crashes on the one-way street, which occurred around two in the morning. When they arrived on scene the man’s SUV had crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle and was on fire. Responding officers pulled the unconscious driver out of the vehicle as it began to fill with smoke. They broke the windows and forced open the door in order to reach the man who was slumped over the wheel. Firefighters who arrived on scene extinguished the fire and the driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
